Barnivalen - FOR, BY and WITH children and young people
Barnivalen is our “Festival in the Festival” which therefore has a festival FOR, BY and WITH children and young people, and covering the events below. Barnivalen has existed since 1977 and has a visitor numbers of approximately 5000-6000 people a year- which in itself makes it one of the oldest and largest children's festival. Barnival-events are not necessarily jazz, but aims primarily to stimulate child's creative utfoldelse. Naturally, with high quality music as a central element.
Many of Barnival-events are free outdoor events, and is suitable for the whole family to participate. So one can safely assume that the events are suitable for “the grandmother and baby” unless otherwise specifically stated. Some of the events is particularly targeted at specific age groups (see arr.omtaler);this must be understood as a recommendation – of course it is an opportunity to participate even if you are outside the stated age appraisal!
Barnival of youth: One of the festival's purpose Barnivalen is to give youth the opportunity to try themselves as promoters. Event Production is a subject that provides a unique understanding of the efforts “behind the scenes” behind every event, and is an experience that is useful in many contexts. Barnivalen volunteers will have full voting rights at the Kongsberg Jazz Festival “General” Funksjonærmøtet, and has also been sought in the festival's volunteer unit / staff. Young people who want to try themselves as promoters of safe limits are encouraged to contact the festival coordinator Kine by emailkine@kongsberg-jazzfestival.no. (delete space before @)
