Kongsberg Jazz Festival has long been a driving force in environmental work, and in collaboration with the festival with the designated criteria for environmental beacon status to festivals. We were thus also the first jazz festival, which was certified as an Eco-Lighthouse.

The many environmental measures are behind the festival, has resulted in an impression of a clean and green festival in the audience. In a survey we conducted back in 2006, said the 94% of respondents (both the public and other festival) that they had the impression that the festival had an ecological profile.

Certified as an Eco-Lighthouse Festival for three years at a time. The next certification is in 2011.
