As always the Kongsberg Jazzfestival is held in week 27. The programming comitee is currently working like mad ,sorting all ideas, incoming suggestions and their own fantasies. Hopefully we will present our first artists in the beginning of february.

Since the beginning in 1996, Kongsberg Jazzfestival’s Musician’s Award has received considerate attention both in Norway and abroad. The award consists of a sculpture, NOK 100.000 (€ 11,500) + an award winner’s concert at next year’s Kongsberg Jazz Festival and is granted to an outstanding Norwegian musician with great international potential.

The program for this summer's Kongsberg Jazzfestival is finally finished.

Noora Noor recently got great reviews concerning her magnificent performance at this years BY:LARM festival in Oslo. We are pleased that we booked her early, as we expect the buzz to escalate in the next months. Her album is coming out 16 march, and hopefully people will pay attention to this remarkable singer. As always, our program committee knows what`s goin on!

The Jazz Festival is on course with its programme for this year`s festival which will take place from 1 July ending on 4 July. The festival aims to launch artists intermittently as they are confirmed, this will be the first group. The next group of artists to be launched will be presented early March.

After the recent "Spellemannsprisen" music awards (the norwegian equivalent of Grammy), we are proud to announce that three of the winners will appear at Kongsberg Jazz Festival 2009.
